RTS, a loss adjustment and inspection firm that focuses on industrial and commerical risks, has hired Macek Power to complete a root cause analysis of the failure of the low pressure end rotor blades of a 77 MW Kraftwerk Union steam turbine located at the TermoCartagena power generating station near Cartagena, Colombia. The analysis involved a site visit where historical and operational information was collected along with blade samples for detailed modeling and load simulation.
